Another reason why i hate my mac...

In the middle of great progress on a paper that is due this evening, I quickly closed my mac in an effort to dash ever so daintily to the little ladies room. When I reopened my comp. was it compliant? No, it refused to come on despite having a fully charged battery. ***depression*** I had to restart my comp. No, I did not save my work. I cried. Two hours wasted.

Crybaby....that's me.

The one I downloaded.....

Amazing Sexy Desktop wallpapers

okay...so the free version of syncmate doesn't work yet. The have an upgrade version so I'll just call their phone number and figure out why the free version won't work. Can't get mad at free can you? Since then I have actually decided to use the long ignored iCal. Though not half as sexy as the Microsofts outlook ( my heart's a'flutter) iCal does sync with my very practical new 80Gipod. (more on than later, sorry ipod touch)... all i need is to see my oft forgotten appointments. Much sexier than a 20 post it notes.

Anyway, here's the link and I downloaded the black girl on black background (very sleek), I like the new world/tiger one too!

my dt is ooohhh so sexy now!

Scribe Fire.....

I just tried this new blog writing tool to see if I like it. It's called Scribe Fire in Firefox and you can blog something from anywhere by just clicking on a button to see if it works.....

Let's see how we do?

Syncmate saves the day!!!

This post is dedicated to all of you out there who on principle refuse to pay another dime for software that converts information to sync info from another device to your MAC. On my honor, for a year now, I refused to buy another piece of software for my Mac after I purchased a copy of Windows XP (which couldn't return after I realized I didn't need it), then parallels to use all of my old stuff when they told me that parallels was crashing my Mac, then another version of Office for Mac (b/c i couldn't use my newly purchased Office 2007 for PC through Parallels), then iwork (b/c I couldn't use word, excell etc for pc through parallels). Hmmmm, what else....oh, yeah, MacSpeech b/c I couldn't use Dragonlly Speaking speech software to assist me in my studies.

Now, my defiance has been rewarded.

Syncmate is supposed to allow you to sync your Pocket PC with your Mac. There's a free version and an upgrade. Naturally, I'll let you know how it goes.

Me in the Mac store....I really should start counting.

Very bored. Running updates and backups that I know I will only have to reinstall yet another time. Ahhh. Why am I here?

My Royal Punkness...

I just realized that I am a punk today. Well, maybe not a punk. I'm just tired. I am tired and weary of rightfully placing hopes and expectations on events, situations, etc that really actually should work out. I thought about this because of how really absolutely absurd my behavior was when some people we had com and do work on our house today did it within a reasonable time frame, with no mess and everything freaking worked when they were done. I was literally dancing my bananas off just because I turned on everything and the g-darn thing worked. everything. perfectly. and it wasn't lopsided. or scratched. They didn't even scratch up my sh@!

Why should that be f%$#$% surprise ?

Because that's not how life is. Believe it or not I am under 30 and I am complaining about the quality of materials today versus the quality of products in my parents generation...or their parents generation...and so forth. Today's stuff sucks. Period. My original 1929 gas stove that came with my 1925 American Foursquare still works ! Compared to my 2008 Apple computer that didn't last 6 months. Or my 2007 Macintosh that didn't make it a week. The subsequent one made it three months. The replacement lasted 2 months before it blew up in Korea using the Apple made and certified universal outlet adapter.

Why am I still here?

E-mail Convo....

A conversation this morning with my friend Juanita in Korea about why me (and my Mac) have been MIA for the last 4 days....:

Juanita: "Sorry you're having so much trouble with that computer, are you still an Apple fan? My computer is just fine.... it's quite reliable and dependable, You know..... maybe you should switch to DELL *wink/half smile*

Me: "Very funny! I am a dell fan. You should check out a blog I started actually inside the Apple store. It's called : http://whyihatemymac.blogspot.com/. If I could switch with no trouble I would. I am too scared to go back now, the only reason I am staying here in MacLand is out of fear. Total and complete fear and I've spent too much money to go back now..."

Juanita: LOL

Go ahead. Laugh. The crazy thing is that I SOLD HER MY DELL to get a MAC ! AWRGHH! That laptop is 2 years old! No MAC I've ever had has lasted longer than 5 months without serious problems.

In the Beginning....

In the beginning was a happy purchaser. A long time pc owner whose friends all owned macs. Attracted by the seductive beauty and color of the machines and the die hard mac owners that swore they would never switch to another personal computer. Never. Intrigued by the seeming fluidity of the Macintosh machines, the clean beauty of their brother and sister programs and the bias of every art instructor and independent business owner I began my research. Starting with basic technical comparisons I then moved onto consumer reviews. You know, Google. I "googled" terms like "i hate macs" and "mac hate" and even "mac problems" where most of what I came up with was tantamount to envy by pc owners or mac lovers who couldn't afford the constant Apple upgrades. So on July 1st, my one year marriage anniversary my musician husband and I made the plunge.

And this is our story....
